Eyethu Art Space
Soweto, 651 Tshabalala Street, Mofolo Central
Eyethu Art Space is housed within Eyethu Lifestyle Centre and is known for being a dynamic and exciting space, showcasing the best of contemporary art, live music and a smorgasbord of creative talent.
Previously known as Eyethu Gallery, it was founded by Rolihlahla Mhlanga and Mandla Tshabalala in 2014.
Emerging and eminent artists are given a platform to showcase their art at this gallery, which strives to shift perspectives about contemporary art in this area.
Artists within the African diaspora have a home at the space, which is actively shaping discourse around black contemporary art within Soweto.
The development and empowerment of young artists in Soweto is also at the fore of the vision to be the premier artist hub within Soweto.
