Nando's Art Initiative

Nando’s Art Initiative started in 2001 and has a growing collection of over 7500 pieces of South African contemporary art displayed in over 500 restaurants locally & internationally.

It is the Initiative's goal to support and develop talented artists through on-going purchases of artwork for their collection, as well as marketing of key artists to elevate their careers.

Nando's Art Initiative has a partnership with Jeanetta Blignaut Art Consultancy who curates and is the driving force behind all of the artist's development programmes, namely:

The Creative Exchange
Nando’s Menu Project
Nando’s Residency Programme (WIP)

These programmes are used to source art from emerging artists as well as provide training, skills development, business tools and artwork crits & feedback to ensure artists can grow in their art discipline and business skills.

Nando's Head office Infrastructure includes (open to the public August 2014):

An Art Gallery used for exhibitions, events and sales
Artist workshop with an established artist in residency, who will be required to have training workshops to help emerging artists develop skills.
Artist in Residency programme to host international artists who will work in the workshop with South African artists to produce a gallery quality body of work or sellable products / art merchandise.
Large ceramic installation by prominent SA artists (it’s a secret) & Spier Architectural Arts
